Adel Mohammed Dabo
Born in Egypt in 1953 and by the age of 15 had launched his music career through several performances with local bands in Cairo. Began his professional career in Europe in 1970 playing alongside band members of groups such as Bambino di Roma, Tamango, Silver Convention, and Bozambo. A few years later, he found himself performing with world-renowned musicians like Manu Dibango, Jean Manshon, Lamine Konte, Marcell Zamini etc

In the course of his professional career, his contribution was marked in a number of festivals around the world. In Europe he participated in festivals in Spain, Belgium, Italy, Holland, Greece, Switzerland, Yugoslavia and UK. In Asia he made it along with band mates in China, Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. While in Africa he performed in Cote' d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Morocco and Tunisia. In 1978 he was selected by POLYDOR to represent France at the MIDEM Festival in Cannes. In addition to a series of performances in festivals, a number of recorded albums hit the stores in many European countries and in Africa which feature his work in collaboration with a variety of artists.

Currently residing in Zanzibar where he volunteers in the local music scene which includes training and inspiring local bands as well as occasionally tutoring at DCMA.
