Simia Ahmadi Ms. Simia Ahmadi is Swiss and Iranian, and is currently the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) Representative to the United Nations in Geneva (January 2006-present). She started human rights work at the United Nations Centre for Human Rights as an intern in 1993. She is the former Nordic Representative of FIDH (Stockholm, 1994-1997), the FIDH East African Coordinator (Kampala, 1997-2001), and worked nationally as Head of the Monitoring Unit and Programme Director at the Legal and Human Rights Centre in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (2001-2003). She is also co-founder/board member of the Martin Ennals Award for Human Rights Defenders, and serves on the jury for the FIDH.
