Angela Impey

Angela Impey has a PhD in Ethnomusicology from Indiana University (USA). She worked as programme coordinator for the Johannesburg International Arts Alive Festival (1992-1995) and the SADC Music Festival in Harare (1995); she thereafter worked as a Senior Lecturer in Ethnomusicology at the University of KwaZulu Natal (South Africa). She has conducted research in several countries in southern Africa and published on a variety of musical subjects. She is currently a freelance researcher and works predominantly in Ethiopia and Sudan.
