SAFAR In France

Newspaper articles

DCMA group ''Safar'' has been chosen to represent traditional music in the international music festival Bombard in France twice, the first time in 2009 and the second time in 2011.

For several years now, DCMA is a partner in the Eastern UMOJA Flying Cultural Carpet,  bringing together artists from Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, the Netherlands and Norway. In national and international camps these young musicians, dancers and acrobats prepare exciting programs, each bringing their cultural traditions into the mix while practicing tolerance and cooperation. The UMOJA project is funded by the Norwegian Government.

15 candidates were selected on the 13th of March 2011 and they will go on to participate in the workshops and eventually go on to participate in the Umoja finals in Uganda in September.
